Nope. Cheap always prevails when it comes to marketshare. The average consumer is fairly thick, when they walk along the aisles at Walmart and wonder which one to chuck in their shopping trolley the majority will go for the cheapest.
Exactly. Which really makes me question Sony's logic as well as the thinking by the rest of the Blu-Ray camp when they're pushing players in the $950 to $1700 range, all but one of which are still vapor-ware.
HD-DVD isn't doing any better seeing how they're cutting features on the low end model for gen.2 while keeping the price the same and they're elevating the higher-end model to Blu-Ray price levels. Seems to me that if either side truly wanted to end this format "war", they would invest the necessary capital and produce 250 million players and get their cheap price and flood the market. OTOH, neither Toshiba or Sony are known for taking risks, especially Toshiba who is in the best spot to do such a thing right now. But the first one to have a player in Wal-Mart at the $199 price tag will win this "war". Especially if they do it with several months advantage on their competitor and before the holidays. But I guess asking Santa for Sony to drop the $199 BDP-S1 bomb on Thanksgiving weekend is just too much to hope for.

I was all for having an aluminum design, but not if it looks like that. That thing is just ugly. I like this concept the most, just without the circle around the Apple logo, and none of those ugly colors like the pink, blue, green, etc.

GF and I just switched. Ive had Tmobile for 11 years and the Iphone but I am sick of edge. Just got done JB and using mywi as we speak, alot faster!

I think the OP's point- and I agree- is that they went a lot further then just NOT doing something right. They did something wrong. Its past the point of should have had an armed guard....its now into looking at what they did and maybe holding them accountable for their actions, too.

The house is a little bigger than those drawings depict, as there are stairs leading to a downstairs that is not shown. Probably to the 5th bedroom that is mentioned, likely a downstairs guest room of sorts or something.

If it's just Disney, then there's not much point. The reason iTMS succeeded from the start was that it was simple and it had the largest library from which you could purchase single songs. If the iTunes Movie store starts with just Disney movies, then it's dead in the water. Let's just hope that ThinkSecret is wrong again, as usual.

Announcing the fact that you update software if you're trying to sell/promote a product, is a good idea.

Just my opinion which has proven shockingly accurate this year.

I expect it to be updated within a month with a silent update when inventories of Yonah MacBook Pros are moderated. It wil have 802.11n installed but will not be supported until Airport super extreme or whatever is formally updated in November. Or perhaps on OSX 10.5 software update in 1-07.

iPhone will be announced. Candy Bar format. Cingular as carrier with one of those rebranding agreements. Possibly even before Christmas.
There will be a separate media event for iTV and the iPod allscreen. That unit will be the center of a human's universe, Steve's dream of his lifetime. Sure. That was one of few worthwhile posts in this thread. I just hope this update actually helps. I've been trying to analyze it myself. It seems like 4.2.7 is worse than 4.2.6 for battery life, but not positive.

Despite the source of the image being not 100% trusted, this seems to be most accurate sounding rumour. Although I do not think that it will be called iPhone 4S as this will mess with the versioning numbers because the one after the 4S/5 would be 6.

iPhone is a great target because of the "holier than thou" culture that Steve Jobs helped create. And now they come out with a phone with a shatter-prone back, flat/square as a brick, still retains the small 3.5" screen and the antenna problems. This is all excellent fuel for the haters.
Even with all that it's still the best phone out there, but the 4 is an even easier target and it's starting to wobble on it's pedestal. Now, when you pull out an iPhone 4, you can expect "oh, you got one of those."
You can thank Apple for making this all worse with it's stupid design decisions on the iPhone 4. They have a chance to fix a lot of this come June.

Everyone is copying us, we are the benchmark and everyone else should bugger off) and 2)the fanboys who lap it all up and 'spreads the word' like door to door salesmen.
Then, when someone disagrees with them (God forbid), the fanboys call the 'iHaters' retards because obviously the iPhone is the best, Android users are just too poor to afford an iphone and thats why we 'envy' (LOL) iUsers and so on.

I liked it. I was happy with the update to the AppleTV - I think I'll finally get off the fence and buy one. The Capsule seems interesting. The MBA is outside of what I want to spend, but it's pretty awesome nonetheless.
It would have been nice to see updated specs on the Mini and other notebooks, but hey, you can't have everything! :)

Can't believe this is a front page article. It's more likely that I'll see pigs flying when I head to work today.
There can't even be interest in this anymore. What possible benefit could Apple obtain by moving to AMD? Marginally faster server processors? I simply can't believe Apple would spend any R&D (and there is always some R&D that has to be done, even if they are both x86 based) on this unless and until they need to pressure Intel to lower prices or something.
