This morning I received a phone call from NAVRS (appointment system) about my H1B appointment.
The phone call was to give me a heads up that my visa might require an additional 2 weeks processing time (has any one received similar calls)?
My I485 is currently pending with a priority date of Jan-2007 (EB2) and this is my 3-year extension, last extension was stamped at US consulate of Toronto (2nd extension).
Can anyone share his or her experience in a similar situation?

Else where in IV (http://immigrationvoice.org/forum/showpost.php?p=7026&postcount=172), I posted that the core bill under consideration is Specter S.Amdt 3192, which has already amended Specter's S.2454. So, the Hagel-Martinez 3 core provisions will be added to S.Amdt 3192.

The upside-down "V" shaped branches in the upper left corner are distracting, but could probably be cloned out with a bit of work in PS. The bright leaves in the upper right corner are also distracting, but a bit of burning in could probably make them stand out less. The water is blown out down at the bottom, but that's easy to excuse if you're using a P&S where you don't have much control over the exposure - or even a way to reliably gauge it until the image is on your computer monitor. Overall, the image has potential, and it shouldn't be too hard to fix most of the little issues I see with a bit of time in Photoshop. :)

shows different dates for EB3 India.

They copy china dates. They did the same thing last time. I think their program needs a fix. They will change it manually eventually. But in the meantime if you want to rejoice in hope feel free. I did that last month. I knew I was kidding myself but then thought, why not indulge myself.

Advance Parole is not a requirement to maintain status. AP is used to get back into the country based on a pending 485. If you have a valid H1/H4 and just want to stay with it and get back on H1/H4 that is totally fine. AP is optional in your case.

My wife had the same situation - was going to be out of town on the scheduled day. She went to the Dallas office on a Wednesday or Thursday and explained the situation to them. They said they were busy that day and said she had upto 89 (?) days to do it. They said she could walk in on any Saturday within that time frame. They also said that there was no need to reschedule. Sure enough, she went in on a Saturday 2 or 3 weeks after the scheduled date and they took her fingerprints.

The top users of the H-1B program for 2009 included multi-national technology companies headquartered, and with branch offices in Silicon Valley. Wipro tops the list with 1,964 new H-1B visas. Microsoft is second with 1318, but then Intel Corp has a big drop off at 723 H-1B's The list of Silicon Valley companies continues, including Infosys Technologies (440), Qualcomm (320), Cisco (308), Oracle (272), Google (211), Yahoo (183), Apple (168), Nvidia (130), and Hewlett Packard (115). While there is no way to know whether these companies sponsored employees located in Silicon Valley, as opposed to another office location, it is clear that high-tech and Silicon Valley are standouts on the list of H-1B employers.
Those who assume the H-1B is a tool used primarily by IT companies may be surprised to see the number of prestigious universities and medical facilities also nearing the top of the list. H-1B visas are work visas for professional workers who typically require at least a Bachelor's degree for entry into their profession. This includes teachers, professors, doctors, and scientists in addition to engineers.

In a nutshell, you can't because WebClient cannot access the file system. One thing you can do is install a web server on the machine - IIS, Apache, etc. Would that be something you would be interested in doing?

I hope so but I don't tink H4 can get financial aid. If perhaps you can get your child as a parolee, there is a possibility...but there are technicalities there as well

I never paid, cancelled my appointment before paying.
Was going to pay them just 2-3 days before the actual appointment.
Got it stamped in Mumbai, absolutely no hassel.

Hi,
I changed job (new position start day is today) - and am struggling to decide whether to send or not send AC21 letter. Got the documentation from new employer but not sure whether to send it or not. For now decided to send just the G-28 form (change of attorney) immediately to get any info from USCIS to my lawyer. If I decide to send AC21 letter later - say after couple months - can we do that? (I mean sending AC21 letter 2/3 months after changing the job) - is this effective/advisable?
I am thinking on these lines because I am not sure what my old employer would do with approved I140. I left on good terms with immediate managers - but its a very big organization and the official HR policy simply says that "they would follow attorney's guidelines - and will abide by whatever USCIS rule in deciding future course in case an employee leaves midway thru greencard process". Those are exact words and there is no other explanation.
Anyone in similar situation and what are you doing please share - I need to complete this (atleast G-28 in a day or two). Thanks
