Hello Folks:
This long wait for Green Card has made me think about a number of things...
A few days back a couple of my friends have recieved notices from USCIS are sending notices 'Intent to Deny their I-485' w/o any rhyme or reason. Employer says they have not withdrawn their I-140. They said they will appeal but if nothing happens they will go back to India.
Just worried...if this happens to me and I am forced to go out of the country in 30 days, what happens to my US loans. I do not think I would be able to repay back my home & car loans with an Indian salary if I return. In this market I can only sell at a huge loss. I also used US Line of credit for education purposes. Do I need to file bankruptcy? I am on a EAD right now...

Thanks for letting me know. I think paskal is in India now. Anyways we had a very small window of time to seek someone quickly. I have found one member willing to reveal his name and give the interview. The information is forwarded to the reporter. The reporter has to quickly do a story so that should be all for now. In case the reporter needs any more members, I will open this thread. Otherwise the thread will remain closed.

Keep on calling SSN office and ask the status. After 1month ask them to expedite the request. It may take morethan 6months also as the systems are not in sync and ssn has to get confirmation from uscis.

Hi,
I got appointment letter for Biometrics from USCIS. I already gave in 2007.
Why are they asking again? and I only got this, my husband and son didn't get it.
Right now I am on EAD, since last december(2009) I am not working, will there be any issues as I am the primary applicant.

Nothing to worry, go ahead and give your biometrics, my friend did it twice. If you want more clarification to sleep better, take infopass and get things clarified

My friend used AC21. He switched jobs after 6 months of filing for 485. He had a query on his 485 seeking experience letters for previous and current employment. He filed those and his 485 approved.
As the title suggest, it is meant for folks who have invoked AC21 (1-140 approved, I-485 filed & pending more than 6 months, job desc almost similar) successfully and unsuccessfully.
If you have successfully transferred, can you comment on the experience, any denial notices that you had to overcome? Have you got the green card finally?
If unsuccessful, what issues are you facing? Is there some work around or going back to desh is the only option?
Thoughts/Comments--from AC21 league members.

In my opinion - with a Apr10 AP expiry date, getting a Schengen until Apr20 may not be possible. Unless the consulate wants to be nice to you! :)

Hello everyone, i have a good news to share that i just checked my case and it shows "Card production ordered". I guess it means my 485 has been approved.

Well, i do have a question regarding my wife 485 case which i just filed this month (July 1st) as my case is current from July 1st. I filed my 485 before i got married, and now it is time and i filed on July 1st, and not received any receipt number from USCIS for my 485 case.
As per my lawyer, there is no worries as we filed on time, and your case is approved just today, means, they should process your wife case when time comes. May be another 4 or 6 months. As long as her case is processed without any issue, then it is fine.
I would like to hear from you guys that if anyone has got this kind of case and any inputs from you guys would be really appreciated.

In Ohio, they issue a DL for one year from the application for H1B extension if the H1B has not been approved yet. It might be the same case in NC as well - it might be worth checking.
